Yesterday, Governor Northam declared a state of emergency for Virginia. For the health and safety of all, the VA DCDT Board has decided to cancel the 2020 conference. We want to thank all of our presenters, sponsors, and attendees for their time and commitment to VA DCDT. We hope everyone that was scheduled to present and/or attend will return for our 2021 conference at Hotel Roanoke on March 15 and 16, 2021. We will be happy to hold current registrations for the 2021 VA DCDT conference. If interested, please contact our treasurer, Wanda Bass, at wbass@goodwillvalleys.com. Vouchers will be provided to hold your registration for 2021. Also, we will honor all requests for refunds. For a refund, contact Wanda Bass, atwbass@goodwillvalley.com.

If you reserved your room through the VADCDT Room Block, Hotel Roanoke will cancel your reservation. If the reservation was made outside of the room block, please contact Hotel Roanoke with regards to cancellation of your room.

Call for Poster Proposals:

At this year’s VA DCDT conference, we will feature our second poster symposium, with a focus on “Triangulating Transition: Putting the Pieces Together (Post-secondary Goals, Partnerships, & Planning/Assessment)”.  Our call for proposals window has just opened, and we invite you to spread the word or submit a poster proposal. This is a great opportunity for young scholars, emerging researchers, self-advocates and innovative practitioners to share the work they have been doing, build new connections, and gain feedback and new ideas. Poster submissions are due by Saturday, February 15, 2020. For more information please go here: 2020 VADCDT Call for Proposals

Call for Vendors:

The Virginia Division of Career Development and Transition (VADCDT) invites you to be a part of our annual conference as a sponsor. This is a curated conference that addresses critical issues in transition for individuals with disabilities. We anticipate approximately 200+ attendees from across the Commonwealth. Attendees are educators, transition specialists, service providers, rehabilitation professionals, health care providers, employers, researchers, family members and self-advocates. In addition to breakout sessions, research poster sessions, and a networking session, vendors/sponsors play key role in the conference experience. Will you join us in sustaining the scholarship of transition in Virginia? If so, here is the place to start. We look forward to working in partnership with you and your organizations.
